Coming up (our last week)!

In our final week of class (!), we will have two live lectures: Tuesday at 10 am on “Early Modern Witch Trials: Witchcraft Law and Procedure” and Friday at 10 a.m. on “Wicca and Neo-paganism”. There will also be a live discussion class on Friday at 11 a.m. after the lecture. For that class, we will be wrapping up and discussing the picture of witches and witchcraft we’ve developed over the past three weeks.

Proposals (part two of the research project) will be retuned by Wednesday night.

I will post a short video in the “start here” section on how to submit your final projects via our course website. Final projects are not due until June 8th.

Remember I have office hours every morning from 9-9:45. Please DM me on the chatboard and we can set up a Big Blue Button video chat.

Class starts tomorrow!

Hi Everyone! Well I think I’m almost ready for our course to being. I will post a recorded version of our first lecture “Ancient Greece and Rome: Curse Tablets, Sorcery, and Healing Magic” tomorrow. I am also hosting a live version of this lecture, alongside an overview of the course, at 10 a.m. via our chatboard. See the “Witches’ Cauldron” thread and look for the “join meeting” blue button. Remember these live lectures are entirely optional!

Welcome and get started!

Welcome to HIST 333! Two announcements before our course gets started: Remember to sign up for a discussion group. The google doc link is available on the “Witches’ Cauldron” in our chat board. In the same place, you will find a google doc of our syllabus. Don’t forget to take a look and post a comment.
